Barbarossa

The 83 meter long, 3177 dwt freighter Barbarossa became disabled after its engine failed while passing through the Dardanelles.   The tug Kurtama 4 was dispatched and took the Barbarossa under tow to Karanlik Liman.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution being released.

KW2 Astrid Disabled

KW2 Astrid Disabled

The 10 meter long trawler KW-2 Astrid became disabled off Scheveningen, Netherlands after a pipe in the cooling system broke.   The broken pipe allowed seawater to flow into the engine room.   The crew contacted the KNRM who dispatched the lifeboat to the scene.   The lifeboat took the Astrid under tow back to Scheveningen.   None of the 2 crew on the Astrid were injured.

Andøybuen Fire

Andøybuen Fire

The 63 meter long, 1806 gt trawler Andøybuen suffered a fire on board while fishing off Kvaloya, Troms, Norway.   The crew contacted the Coast Guard who dispatched a lifeboat and helicopter to the scene.   Reports state the crew was able to gain control over the fire.   None of the 20 crew was injured.   No further details reported.
