Jonas Sinks
The 86 meter long self-propelled barge Jonas broke-in-two and sank at Amsterdam, Netherlands. The Jonas was at the OBA Bulk-Terminal at Westerhaven Way loading coal when the vessel’s back broke and the vessel sank. The deckhand was rescued, but the master of the Jonas perished. Rescuers have sent divers to look for the captain who was found trapped in the wheelhouse. The Jonas now rests in 14 meters of water.
