The 139 meter long, 13567 dwt freighter Cheng Lu 15 sank off  Pohang Republic of Korea.  The Cheng Lu 15 had been at anchor when it was struck by strong winds and rough seas.  The waves push the Cheng Lu 15 against the seawall and soon after sank.   Authorities attempted to reach the vessel, but were hampered by the severe conditions.  When rescuers got to the scene, the vessel was nearly completely submerged.   Initial reports stated that all 19 crewmen on board were missing, but later 1 body was discovered.  Authorities report that the Cheng Lu 15 was in ballast and had been scheduled to depart for Japan.  Korean authorities continue search and rescue operations.
