The 226 meter long bulk carrier CWB Marquis ran aground on the St. Lawrence River near Beauharnois, Montérégie. The bulk carrier departed from Hamilton loaded with iron ore when it grounded near the locks after striking large block of ice. The CWB Marquis remained aground until later the same day when it was pulled free. The bulker proceeded to Melocheville for further inspection. The CWB Marquis was the first vessel to travel on the St. Lawrence Seaway of the 2015 season.
