WSF Kennewick
On July 8, the 273 foot long ro-ro passenger ferry WSF Kennewick ran aground in Keystone Harbor, Whidbey Island, Washington. The ferry was en route to Coupeville from Townsend when it stranded outside the channel onto the muddy bottom. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. Divers inspected the hull and the Coast Guard cleared the ferry to continue operations later the same day.
