The 229 meter long, 82,153 dwt bulk carrier Rosco Palm ran aground twice on the Columbia River near Skamokawa, Washington. On August 11, the Rosco Palm was headed downstream from Kalama bound for Chiba, China when it ran aground. The bulk carrier was later refloated and headed to an anchorage upriver near Skamokawa. Near the anchorage the Rosco Palm ran aground a second time on a sand bank. The following day, the Rosco Palm was refloated again and proceeded to Kalama where it was inspected for damage. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
