Allision at Lingen-Biene

The 86 meter long inland tanker Anclajo allided with a bridge over the Dortmund-Ems Canal between Lingen and Biene, Germany.  The wheelhouse of the Anclajo was torn off while the bridge suffered no damage.   The Anclajo was adrift for a short time until it could be moored at a nearby quay.   The master of the Anclajo reported that heavy fog had prevented him from seeing the bridge until it was too late to lower the wheelhouse.   Damage to the Anclajo has been assessed at 100.000 Euros.  No reports of injuries.
