Federal St. Laurent Aground

The 670 foot long, 34,372 dwt freighter Federal St. Laurent went aground on the St. Lawrence River west of the Eisenhower Lock near Massena, New York.  The Federal St. Laurent was loaded with titanium slag grounded near the bow and away from the vessel’s fuel tanks.  The freighter was later released and was able to proceed to the nearby anchorage where divers will conduct an underwater survey of the hull.  There were no injuries or pollution released.  The incident is under investigation.
