Landegge Aground

The 86 meter long, 1489 dwt tanker-barge Landegge went aground on the Ijssel River near Olst, Netherlands.   The Landegge loaded with 1000 metric tons of benzol became stuck due to the low water levels.  River traffic was halted as another tanker was brought to the scene so the cargo could be lightered.  Later that day a tug was able to pull the Landegge free and towed it further down river where lightering will continue.  No reports of injuries or pollution being released.
