The 81 meter long, 3200 dwt freighter Hendrika Margaretha became disabled near Terschelling, Netherlands.  The freighter had suffered engine failure and gone adrift.   A tug was requested and took the Hendrika Margaretha under to tow to Harlingen.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

Eva

The wooden sailing vessel Eva suffered an explosion near Mandraki, Kos Island, Greece.  The Eva was entering the harbour from a cruise with 28 passengers when a mock cannon on board exploded.  The explosion killed the captain and injured six passengers who were later taken to hospital.  No further details reported.

Ligid Island Collision

The 100 meter long, 8161 dwt freighter Rainbow Joy collided with the fishing vessel Raisa near Ligid Island, Davao City, Philippines.  The crew of the Raisa were hauling nets when the Rainbow Joy approached the fishing vessel.   The crew tried to alert the freighter, but the Rainbow Joy proceed to strike the bow of the Raisa.   The Raisa quickly sank sending the 11 crew into the water.   All 11 men were rescued by other fishing vessels in the area.   No reports of injuries on either vessel.   Reports state the Rainbow Joy briefly slowed down after the collision, but did not stop or assist in the rescue efforts.
