The 112 meter long, 6051 dwt freighter EMS became disabled in the North Sea.  The EMS had suffered engine failure and the crew was unable to restart the engine.  The freighter was taken under tow to Emden, Germany for repairs.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.   The EMS was en route to Newport from Vierow with a cargo of wheat.
