The 18 meter long fishing vessel Pia Glanz sank off Egersund, Norway.  The Pia Glanz had suffered water ingress in the engine room that quickly flooded the vessel.  The master of the vessel alerted authorities. A helicopter was dispatched to the scene, but the Pia Glanz sank before it arrived.  The crew of three had abandoned to the vessel’s liferaft.  Vessels in the area were alerted by the Pia Glanz’s distress beacon and diverted to the scene.  The tanker Fox Luna rescued the three crewmen and were later transferred to a lifeboat who took the men to port.  No reports of injuries.
