On March 13, the 63 foot long fishing vessel Joyce Lynn II ran aground on sandy beach of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The crab boat had struck rocks along the  off Port Everglades sustaining hull damage and water ingress.  The Joyce Lynn II requested assistance with a Coast Guard boat responding.  The four crew jumped off the crab boat onto the rescue boat.  One man sustained minor injuries.  The Joyce Lynn II later washed ashore.  Initial attempts to refloat the vessel failed.  A salvage company plans to remove the vessel off the beach. The Coast Guard has launched an investigation into the incident.
