The 110 meter long self-propelled tanker Istoromi collided with the 86 meter long self-propelled tanker Alto Mira on the Outer Maas near Poortugaal, Netherlands. Two vessels were passing during the early morning hours when the Alto Mira suffered a steering fault. Unable to avoid collision the master of the Alto Mira kept the tanker on a path where both vessels collided  head-on.

The vessels were still able proceed  under their own power.  The tankers then proceeded to Geul. There the vessels unloaded their cargo. The Istoronmi discharged acetone while the Alto Mira unloaded ethanol.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.
