The 110 meter long self-propelled barge Marienberg went aground on the Main River near Dorfprozelten, Germany.   The Marienberg had departed Dorfprozelten with a cargo of grain when it got caught in strong currents and was swung perpendicular to river before grounding at the bow and stern.   Two tugs along were unable to pull the Marienberg free.  An excavator was requested the next day and removed mud from around the bow allowing the tugs to refloat the Marienberg.   No reports of injuries or pollution released.  The water police report the water level was higher than normal at the time of the grounding.
