The 125 meter long, 8800 dwt container ship 3 Oak went aground on the Kiel Canal while en route to Rotterdam from Szczecin.  The 3 Oak had suffered engine failure and drifted onto the embankment.  Traffic on the canal was halted until the vessel was refloated later the same day.  The 3 Oak proceeded under its own power to Brunsbüttel where it was inspected before allowing the vessel continue on its voyage.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
