Carat Damaged

The 141 meter long, 12400 dwt container ship Carat suffered damage after being struck by a large wave in the North Sea.  The Carat was proceeding to Bremerhaven from Larvik, Norway when a wave struck the vessel.  The vessel’s No. 1 cargo hold suffered water ingress and flooding causing the vessel to be down by the bow.  The Carat also lost power in the forepeak.   The Carat was able to proceed and reached Bremerhaven where it berthed.   No reports of injuries or pollution being released.
