Bangga

The 85 meter long self-propelled barge Bangga went aground on the Mosel River near Cochem, Germany.  The Bangga had steered too close to shore allowing another vessel to pass by becoming stuck on a gravel bar.   Afterwards, The Bangga was turned until it was stuck perpendicular to the river blocking traffic.  The vessel had was lightered and refloated by the next day.   The Bangga was taken under tow to a nearby dock at Treis-carding.   No reports of injuries to the four crew on board, damage or pollution released.  The Bangga was enroute with a cargo of 1,000 tons of rape seed.
